Treasure Chests Guide
Treasure Chests are hidden world rewards that spawn at random locations on selected maps. There is no NPC to talk to and no key to use: explore an enabled map, watch the Treasure Chest status indicator, and get close enough to an active chest to claim it.
How Treasure Chests Work
- A Treasure Chest spawns at a random valid location on an enabled map.
- The map's Treasure Chest indicator shows Alive while the chest is available.
- Explore the map and approach the chest with a living character.
- When you get close enough, the chest opens automatically. You do not need to attack it, click it, or use an item.
- The server rolls every configured reward group independently and drops any successful rewards around the chest location.
- The chest disappears, the find is announced, achievement progress is awarded, and that map begins its respawn timer.
- After the timer expires, the server rolls a fresh random valid location and spawns the next chest on the same map.
Current Treasure Chest Maps
Treasure Chests are currently enabled on the following maps:
| Map | Treasure Chest |
|---|---|
| Dawnvale | Enabled |
| Promiseland | Enabled |
| Procella | Enabled |
| Dungeon Level 2 | Enabled |
| Dungeon Level 3 | Enabled |
| Middleland | Enabled |
| Druncian | Enabled |
Treasure Chest Status Indicator
When you are on a map that supports Treasure Chests, the client displays a small Treasure Chest status indicator:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Alive | A Treasure Chest is currently active somewhere on your map. |
| Dead (N mins) | The chest has already been found. The displayed time is the remaining respawn countdown for your current map. |
The indicator tells you whether the hunt is active, but it does not reveal the chest coordinates. Finding the location is still part of the hunt.
Where Can a Chest Spawn?
The server chooses the position randomly, but it does not place chests blindly. A valid spawn location must follow the map rules:
- The tile must be walkable.
- The tile cannot be a teleport tile.
- The position must stay within the configured safe distance from the outer map edges.
- The chest occupies its tile while active, so players cannot simply walk through it.
How to Open a Treasure Chest
Treasure Chests use proximity rather than a normal interaction button. Simply move next to the chest while your character is alive. Once an eligible living player enters the configured proximity area, the server opens the chest immediately.
- No key is required.
- No attack is required.
- No skill is required.
- No inventory space check is required to open it because rewards are generated on the ground.
- A dead character cannot trigger the chest.
Reward Roll System
A Treasure Chest does not choose exactly one entry from a single weighted list. Instead, each configured reward group gets its own independent chance roll.
Roll = random value from 1 to 10,000Success threshold = Configured Chance (%) × 100Reward succeeds when Roll ≤ Success Threshold
For example, a reward configured at 3% succeeds on roll values 1 through 300. Because reward groups are checked independently, several groups can succeed from the same Treasure Chest.
Currently Documented Fragment Rewards
The current Stones guide confirms these Treasure Chest entries:
| Reward | Configured Chance | Roll Threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Fragment of Xelima | 3% | 300 / 10,000 |
| Fragment of Merien | 3% | 300 / 10,000 |
These two entries are examples confirmed by the current website data. The complete Treasure Chest prize list is controlled by the server configuration and can be adjusted without changing the core Treasure Chest mechanics.
How Rewards Are Dropped
Successful rewards are created as normal ground items around the location where the chest was opened. If several items are awarded, the server looks for available nearby tiles so the drops do not all need to occupy the same position.
Reward groups can also contain more than one item or multiple copies of an item. When that happens, each generated item is placed on an available tile around the original chest position.
Respawn & Map Independence
The current Treasure Chest respawn interval is 3 hours. The countdown starts only after the active chest on that map has been opened.
Next Spawn Time = Time Chest Was Found + 3 Hours
Because every enabled map tracks its own state, finding a chest in Middleland does not remove or restart the Treasure Chest in Dawnvale, Procella, or any other enabled map.
What Happens When a Chest Is Found?
Opening a Treasure Chest completes several actions at once:
- The active chest is removed from that map.
- Configured reward rolls are processed.
- Any successful reward items are dropped around the chest position.
- A Treasure Chest sound is played for the finder when a reward is successfully created.
- The server announces that the character found a Treasure Chest.
- The finder receives Treasure Chest achievement progress.
- The map's 3-hour respawn countdown begins.
Treasure Chest Achievement
Finding a Treasure Chest triggers the server's Treasure Chest activity for achievement progression. The activity is awarded when the chest is opened, so the important action is successfully finding the chest itself.
