Marketplace Guide

The Marketplace is Helbreath Nexus player-to-player trading system. You can list your own items for sale, browse listings from other players, pay in several supported currencies, and keep track of your active, sold, cancelled, and expired listings from one interface.

Quick facts: Marketplace trades can use Gold, Nexus Coin, Reputation, or Majestic. Listing duration, sale tax, minimum seller level, and listing cooldown are server-configured and are shown inside the in-game About Marketplace panel.

How the Marketplace Works

  1. Open the Marketplace and browse available listings.
  2. Use the search, category, currency, or sort filters to narrow down what you want.
  3. To sell, choose Sell Item and select an item from your inventory.
  4. Enter the quantity, selling price, and currency.
  5. Once published, the selected quantity is removed from your inventory and stored as a Marketplace listing.
  6. If another player buys it, the buyer receives the item and you receive the sale proceeds after any configured tax.

Supported Currencies

CurrencyBuyer pays fromSeller receives
GoldGold carried in inventoryGold
Nexus CoinNexusCoin item stacks carried in inventoryNexus Coin
ReputationCharacter ReputationCharacter Reputation
MajesticCharacter Majestic PointsCharacter Majestic Points
Important: Gold and Nexus Coin purchases check the buyer's inventory stacks. Reputation and Majestic are deducted directly from the buyer's character values.

Selling an Item

Items are listed directly from your inventory. The item must not be equipped and must not currently be locked by another unfinished item transaction such as an Artisanry session.

  • The price must be greater than 0.
  • The quantity must be at least 1.
  • You cannot list more units than the stack currently contains.
  • Stacked items can be listed partially; only the chosen quantity is removed.
  • Equipped items cannot be listed.
  • The seller must meet the configured minimum character level.
  • If a listing cooldown is enabled, you must wait until it expires before publishing another listing.

Listing Duration

Every listing receives an expiry date when it is published.

Expiry Time = Publish Time + Effective Listing Duration

The server supports separate normal and VIP listing-duration settings. The value that applies to your character is sent to the Client and displayed in the Marketplace's About Marketplace panel.

SettingBehavior
Normal Listing DurationUsed when VIP is not active.
VIP Listing DurationUsed while VIP is active.
Source fallback7 days for both normal and VIP if the external config is unavailable.

Marketplace Tax

The Marketplace supports a seller tax. The buyer still pays the full listed price; the tax is deducted from the amount delivered to the seller.

Tax Amount = floor(Listed Price × Tax Rate ÷ 100)
Seller Receives = Listed Price − Tax Amount

The calculation uses integer arithmetic, so fractional tax amounts are rounded down.

ExampleListed PriceTaxSeller Receives
Example A10,0005%9,500
Example B25,9995%24,700
Example C1,0000%1,000
VIP: The server supports a separate VIP tax setting. If VIP is active, the VIP tax value is used instead of the normal one.

The exact live normal/VIP tax values are controlled by the external Marketplace configuration and are shown in-game. The HGServer's built-in fallback is 0% for both.

Buying an Item

When you buy a listing, the server validates that the listing is still active, checks your currency, temporarily reserves the listing so another buyer cannot take it at the same time, and then attempts to deliver the item.

  • You cannot buy your own listing.
  • You must have the full listed amount in the selected currency.
  • If another buyer already took the listing, your purchase is rejected.
  • The item is delivered before your currency is deducted.
  • If delivery cannot be completed, the listing is returned to active status and the purchase fails.

Where Purchased Items Go

The server first tries to place a purchased item in your normal inventory. If that fails, it tries your Shared Warehouse.

Delivery Order: Inventory → Shared Warehouse

If both locations are unable to accept the item, the purchase is cancelled and you keep your currency.

Tip: Keep either an inventory slot or Shared Warehouse space available before making a purchase, especially for non-stackable equipment.

What Happens When Your Item Sells?

The seller receives the configured net amount in the same currency used for the listing.

CurrencySeller onlineSeller offline
GoldAdded as Gold item currencyAdded to the seller character's inventory data
Nexus CoinAdded as NexusCoin item currencyAdded to the seller character's inventory data
ReputationAdded to ReputationAdded directly to the seller character
MajesticAdded to Majestic PointsAdded directly to the seller character

If the seller is offline, the server keeps the sold listing in a delivery-pending state until the proceeds can be delivered successfully.

Expired Listings

An unsold active listing becomes expired once its expiry time is reached. The original item is then returned to the seller.

Seller stateReturn destination
OnlineInventory first, then Shared Warehouse fallback
OfflineShared Warehouse

Expired returns are processed automatically by HGServer. If the return cannot be completed immediately, the listing keeps its delivery state so the server can handle the unresolved delivery instead of silently deleting the item.

Cancelling Your Own Listing

You can cancel one of your own listings while it is still active.

  • Only the seller character can cancel the active listing.
  • The item is reconstructed with its stored item data, including attributes, lifespan, slots, and gemstones.
  • The server returns it to your inventory first, then Shared Warehouse if needed.
  • If there is no room to return the item, the cancellation is rejected and the listing remains available.

Item Data Preserved by the Marketplace

Marketplace listings store much more than an item name. Equipment is reconstructed from the saved listing data when it is bought, cancelled, or returned after expiry.

Stored informationExamples
Basic item dataName, item ID, type, category, equipment position, quantity
Equipment statsItem effects, base damage, level/gender restriction, class mask
DurabilityCurrent and maximum lifespan
AttributesFull item attribute value and item color
Special valuesSpecial-effect values stored on the item
JewelcraftingSocket count and both gemstone IDs
In practice: A socketed or attributed equipment listing is meant to arrive with those properties intact rather than being recreated as a plain base item.

Browsing & Filters

The Marketplace Client includes several tools for finding listings:

  • Search Item by item name.
  • Filter by Category: Weapon, Armor, Accessory, Consumable, or Others.
  • Filter by Currency: Gold, Nexus Coin, Reputation, or Majestic.
  • Sort: Newest, Oldest, A-Z, Price Low, or Price High.
  • View My Listings to inspect your own Marketplace history.

The server returns up to 80 listing records in a list response. This is a browse/result limit, not a seller slot limit.

My Listings

Your personal Marketplace view separates listings by status:

TabMeaning
ActiveCurrently available for purchase.
CancelledListings you cancelled and had returned.
SoldCompleted sales whose proceeds were delivered.
ExpiredListings that reached their expiry time.
Delivery PendingSold listings waiting for successful seller-currency delivery.

Is There a Listing Slot Limit?

The current HGServer implementation does not enforce a hard maximum number of active Marketplace listings per seller. The 80-entry limit used by the list query controls how many records are returned to the Client at once; it is not an account listing-slot cap.

VIP clarification: In this source, VIP Marketplace behavior is tied to the configurable listing duration and sale tax. There is no VIP extra-listing-slot rule in the current Marketplace implementation.

Marketplace Reporting

If a listing looks suspicious or abusive, the Marketplace includes a reporting system. A character can report the same listing only once.

Report reasonUse it for
Price ManipulationListings intended to manipulate or distort market pricing.
Deceptive ListingListings designed to mislead buyers.
Suspicious ItemItems that appear abnormal or invalid.
Inappropriate NameAbusive or inappropriate listing/item naming concerns.
Spam / AbuseMarketplace spam or misuse.
OtherAnything that does not fit the categories above.
  • You cannot report your own listing.
  • The same character cannot report the same listing twice.
  • An optional note can be included for GM review.
  • A separate report cooldown can be enabled by server configuration.
