Farming Guide

Farming lets you plant seed bags on designated farmland and harvest crops for produce, EXP, Farming skill progress, and achievements. It is a hands-on gathering skill: plant a crop, work it with the proper farming tool, and collect produce as the crop passes through its harvest stages.

Quick facts: You need at least Level 20 and 20 Farming mastery to harvest crops. Seeds can only be planted on tiles marked as farmland, and each map can hold up to 200 active crops.

How Farming Works

  1. Get a seed bag for the crop you want to grow.
  2. Travel to a valid farming area.
  3. Use the seed bag on an empty farmland tile.
  4. Equip the proper farming tool and work the planted crop.
  5. Continue working the same crop as it moves through its farming stages.
  6. Pick up the produce that drops during harvest stages.

Farming does not use a normal combat hit/miss roll once a valid crop is being worked. Each accepted farming action advances the crop by reducing its remaining internal farming count.

Planting Requirements

A seed bag is only planted when all of the following conditions are valid:

  • The target tile is marked as a Farming tile.
  • The tile is not already occupied by another crop structure.
  • The map has fewer than 200 active crops.
  • Your Farming mastery meets the seed bag's Farming requirement.
Seed requirement rule: Your Farming Mastery must be greater than or equal to the seed's Farming requirement. If the seed requires more mastery than you currently have, it cannot be planted.

Successfully planting a seed also counts toward the Plant Seed achievement activity.

If either your character level or Farming mastery is below 20, the crop cannot be harvested through the normal farming action.

Crop Lifecycle & Harvest Stages

A crop keeps an internal farming count. Every valid farming action reduces that count by 1. Produce is generated at three specific checkpoints:

Internal Crop CountWhat happens
18The crop advances visually and drops one unit of its produce.
8The crop advances to its next stage and drops another unit of produce.
1The final produce is dropped, then the crop is removed.
Maximum confirmed yield: A crop can produce up to 3 item drops during its lifecycle—one at each harvest checkpoint. The exact starting internal count is supplied by the NPC configuration, so the guide does not assume a total number of actions beyond what the server source confirms.

Harvest Formula

There is no separate percentage success roll for a valid farming action. The important progression formula is the crop's remaining count:

New Crop Count = Current Crop Count − 1 per valid Farming action

When the pre-action count is 18, 8, or 1, the action also generates the corresponding harvest reward.

Crop Rewards & EXP

Each crop type always produces its matching food/material item. Every harvest drop also grants a small random amount of character EXP.

CropItem IDEXP per harvest dropAverage EXP

Pumpkin2953d10 (3–30)16.5

Blue Grape3058d10 (8–80)44.0
Mushroom3069d10 (9–90)49.5
Ginseng30710d10 (10–100)55.0

d10 means a ten-sided random roll. For example, 5d10 is the sum of five rolls from 1 to 10, giving a possible result from 5 to 50.

Maximum EXP From One Crop

Because a crop can generate up to three harvest drops, its maximum confirmed harvest EXP can be estimated by multiplying the per-drop EXP by 3.

Maximum Crop Harvest EXP = EXP per Harvest Drop × 3 harvest checkpoints

Where Harvested Items Drop

Farm produce is created as a ground item; it is not inserted directly into your inventory.

  • At the earlier harvest stages, the produce is dropped at your character's current tile.
  • At the final harvest stage, the produce is dropped at the crop's tile before the crop is removed.
  • You still need to pick the item up normally.
Tip: Keep an eye on the ground while farming. A successful harvest stage can happen during the action itself, and the reward is physically dropped into the world.

Farming Skill Progression

Farming skill progress is checked when a crop reaches one of its three harvest checkpoints. The server compares your Farming mastery with the planted crop's Farming requirement.

Skill-training condition: Farming Mastery ≤ Crop Requirement + 10

This means crops that are far below your current mastery eventually stop being useful for raising the Farming skill, even though you can still harvest them for produce and EXP.

Example:

  • If a crop has a Farming requirement of 40, it can contribute Farming skill progress while your mastery is 50 or lower.
  • Once your Farming mastery is above 50, that crop no longer qualifies for Farming skill progression.
Training ceiling formula: A crop can train Farming up to approximately its required Farming mastery + 10.

Map Crop Limit

Every map tracks its own active agriculture count.

Maximum active crops per map = 200

When the map reaches that cap, additional seed bags cannot create another crop until an existing crop is removed.

Farming Areas

The server only accepts seed planting on map tiles explicitly flagged as Farming. Aresden Farm and Elvine Farm are recognized as official farm maps by the game, but the actual planting permission is determined tile-by-tile by the map's Farming flag.

Trying to plant outside a valid Farming tile produces the message:

“This is not an area to farm.”

Farming Achievements

Farming has two separate character achievements: one for planting and one for harvesting.
